Stripers are still moving back from the river systems from their annual spawn. Diversion canal should be good drift fishing live herring and shad. Lots of fish in the creeks on Lake Moultrie. Look for those fish from 35-45 ft on top of the hills and in the deeper creeks. Live herring and shad will work the best.
Plenty of shell-cracker being caught along the edges of the saw grass and lily pads and inside the groups of cypress trees, Look for the shell cracker to be on the bed on the full moon and the new moon this month along with the first groups of betting blue brim.
Look for Crappje on brush in 10-25 of water. Cast 1/16 oz jigs with curly and slider tails to the brush. Live minnows will work good also. Spider-rigging the creeks with jigs and minnows will also produce good fish.
The cats are in the trees. Anchor up in 3-6 ft of water and spread your baits all along the tree lines. Shad and herring working good. Plenty of 5-10 lb fish along with some trophy class cats shallow. Thicker the trees the better the fishing I believe. Hit slots for 10-15 minutes until you find the fish. Plenty of cats being caught drifting in 15-25 ft on the lake. Shad herring and mullet working good. Right now this time of the year there is plenty of catfish action in the diversion canal. Drift Shrimp livers and cut bait for the best results.
